I forgot that once inside the gateway MACs could be an option. One last week compromised over a hundred servers for a hospital system before they got it shut down, all because of users creds. With zero day exploits we're running into way to many issues where a user's credentials were compromised. So using this method are you saying that someone with user credentials can still log in from any device even if the MAC isn't listed? If so that's what we're trying to get away from. they can authenticate if they have a user, since the Sonicwall authenticates the user BEFORE assigning the IP, but then cannot get an IP, thus cannot connect to the network. Did you create a rule? How does the Sonicwall know if he is allowed or not allowed? So when a user tries to connect, if his computer is not part of those that should be allowed to access the VPN.It would seem to be that right here you're saying that you're putting a static IP in the settings of the Global VPN Client for that gateway, or are you saying you're creating a static in the DHCP pool that is mapped to the above referenced MAC address, and reserved for that Global VPN Client? 2- We created a static IP for each of the unit. You're not referencing the MAC of the devices physical NIC card, but rather the MAC of the virtual adapter, correct? 1- We gathered the individual MAC addresses of the Global VPN Client on each computer that needed to access the VPN.I'm not sure I completely understand, however, so please forgive my questions if I'm missing something obvious. ![]()
